$415....

Today has been one interesting and long day. Everything went along on the show as usual...I checked in on my entire list of local and out of state chapters and made sure that the show was on everywhere. Around 2pm I get a call from "The Mexican" and he informs me that he is making one of his monthly trips to NY to get a haircut and a light snack before he heads back to MD. As soon as I get the call I start packing my bags and get ready to head into the city. The drive into the city was cute and fast there was hardly any traffic at all, within 30 minutes I found myself playing the rat race on Christopher Street searching for parking. Another 10 minutes and I was parking and hanging with my boy. We spent sometime walking around and shopping and by the time I got back to my car I realized I had been ticketed a FAT $115 for parking by a fire hydrant that I could not even see thanks to the snow storm of last weekend. I figured it wasn't worth getting pissed off so I might as well just let it go and not even argue....It was almost 6pm and my boy needed to be on the 6:20 train heading home so I drove like a damn Taxi driver trying to get him to the station, he made his train and I kept it moving....Next stop, a quick pharmacy run time to refill my Asthma medications (well at least that was the plan) I parked behind a car and dashed inside to pick up my meds and wouldn't u know it, they did not have my items ready!!! After 5 minutes of rolling my eyes and letting the girl at the counter have it. A minute later I was running out of the Pharmacy only to find that my pride and joy was not where I had left it. After pausing for 10 seconds I faced the brutal fact that my car had been towed....I confirmed this with a woman who had parked in front of me who in formed me that If I had come out 30 seconds earlier I would have seen the tow truck as they turned the corner No need to panic as this is a reality of the NYC driver I quickly hail a cab and haul off to the Tow Pound.....On the quick ride I call up RED and fill him in on the latest and greatest event on the show and we just laugh it off I guess we have accepted that in life shit is just going to happen and when you live in NYC Metro are it tends to happen more often than not! Long Story short $185 later......Oh and one more parking ticket to the tune of $115 and Foxy was on his way home. I decided I would reward myself with a 20 piece McNugget dinner. So the lesson learned today........ Parking in front of snow covered Hydrant: $115 Parking in a "No Parking Zone": $115 NYC Tow Fees: $185 Total Cost for Coffee and Cake with your good girlfriend: $415 Being able to pay this kind of money and then call your best friend and laugh about the entire situation..........................Priceless! There are sometimes when you have to use Master Card........Once you have done that once, next time use the PATH Train.Ciao!

Sunday Kinda Love....... Episode 1

"I want a Sunday kind of love A love to last past Saturday night and I’d like to know it’s more than love at first sight and I want a Sunday kind of love Oh yea yea I want a love that’s on the square Can’t seem to find somebody Someone to care and I’m on a lonely road that leads to no where I need a Sunday kind of love". -Etta James

Every morning since November 1, 2003 I wonder what it would be like to be in a relationship again. To have someone next to you every night when you turn in after a rough day and when you wake up to face a challenging one. Everyday I struggle with wanting to be involved versus not wanting to be involved. This morning marks the end of our first official blizzard of the winter season. Somehow this weather has a way of forcing us to deal with things we normally set aside for another day....Whether that be laundry, cleaning, studying or just taking a few moments out to deal with whatever we have been running away from. By no means get me wrong and think that the weekend was spent home beating myself down for being single.....Did anyone forget? This is "The Foxybrown Show".....My weekend has been filled with quite a bit of entertainment. Later Friday night I had an encounter with a couple from Central New Jersey, and boy what a couple they were behind the scenes I admit I was definitely attracted to one more so than the other but that is neither here or there. However, when it was all said and done I questioned myself on wanting a lover that was open to a 3some and how dealing with the issues that come along with that type of behavior. Go figure......Stay tuned as I think this topic will resurface in future episodes. Saturday morning I was forced to open my eyes due to the ringing of my phone....Beyond the shadow of a doubt I knew exactly who it was my sidekick and partner in crime (and pretty much anything else) "Red". I know for a fact that the last time I had spoke to him was about ten hours prior but ten hours on my show can be a few years on others.... After giving him the morning update I had to get dressed as Mr. Comcast was coming over to work on the cable in the TV room which doubles as "The RED suite". I'm glad the cable is working but sad they found out I was getting about 400 channels for free...I don't think I need to tell the audience how that all worked out...U guys get the idea! After a great breakfast of a Kit Kat and Coffee I had company delivered to me directly from Brazil by way of East Orange, NJ. Hot little number if I must say so myself but again I have to stop and wonder why is it when I meet the Latin Guys after 30 minutes of conversation they want to marry me and bring me back to their native land? It was cold outside but VERY hot inside however when it was all done I was ready for....Ummm for security reasons let's just call him "Pablo" to leave! This man was laid up in my bed casing the joint probably trying to figure out where his clothes would go as I'm trying to find subtle ways to let this guy know it's time to head on out.
After about 30 minutes of that madness I found myself alone again, and forced to deal with another reality....It's a blizzard out and I have no groceries. No worries a quick trip to the local Chinese restaurant would resolve all those issues.

The wind and snow was kicking my ass all the way home but once I made it back I found security all bundled up on my Futon with a truck load of DVD’s

A buddy of mine called me up on Saturday night and invited me to a party in the neighborhood. Ummmmmm…….I could have had a V-8. bunch of creepy guys undressing you with their eyes (ordinarily that would not be a bad thing but we need to at least have a mutual attraction!)

Sunday, waking up after the Blizzard of '05, I had an early morning booty call and I must admit he's one of my favorites; lets just call him "HuskySon". "HS" and I had been recently reintroduced during a boring Sunday on "Click a Trick" Since then we have kept each other company on a few late nights/early morning. After this mornings episode I was left with may mixed feeling: Pleasure being the primary one as that boy has a natural talent for knowing exactly how to keep a smile on my face. Secondly, I was kind of glad that HS came around where we always had great chemistry but the fact that he even came out in that storm to see me was enough to make me smile. After our "jump off" I made a quick breakfast and was sure to make a quick mention of my car being buried in the snow. Within 3 minutes my sexy Chulo was outside digging my baby out of the cold white bliss that Mother Nature covered Jersey City in. A quick pat on the butt and a kiss on the lips and it was time to say goodbye and get my day started. 9AM and my productive juices were flowing I decided it was time to clean house and say goodbye to Christmas and hello to the laundry. By 9:30 I was on the phone with my faithful sidekick discussing the evenings events and the mornings "After party" and the Agenda for the show. By noon I had touched base with all of my viewers including:
The New York MetroThe Atlanta Chapter DC Metro Chapter West Coast Connection and all my local viewers here in Jersey City on WFOX Channel 69! 604 the straight ex-roommate that won't go away made his check in call to let me know he was venturing out into the snow to grab some Chinese Food and wanted to know if I needed anything so of course I could not refuse that offer.........Two hours later 604 is running around the house in his long johns like a psycho 5 year old "God we were meant to be friends". I knew it would only be a matter of time before he sat his behind on my bed and decided that it was time to tune into the show. We had a moment talking about our work weeks and what had been going on in ciphers. My recent visits to Maryland and DC. We talked about being single and enjoying our freedom and how sometimes it’s just nice to have someone to talk to When 604 left and went home for the evening I couldn’t help but take a deep breath and reflect on the weekend and the conversations and encounters I had experienced and I just wondered to myself was this “A Sunday kinda love”…..

If that's your boyfriend he wasn't last night....

It's 3am and I'm due in the office in 4 hours. I just can't seem to close my eyes....Carmen Rodgers is blasting in the background and she is asking me if I want to be free and I'm trying to figure out why I keep imprisoning myself?

If I could figure out why I am so attracted to the things that are not good for me?
If I could figure out why Good Foxes love Bad Boys?

For several months I have had an on going fling with someone that I know I can never be mine at least not the way I want them to be. I think it's so amazing how peoople can see your situation so clearly and you can't see your hand in front of your face. Red has constantly warned me to stay clear of this person as my feelings always get the best of me and there is no denying I get all caught up when they are around, I still find myself drawn to him and he still finds time to "fit me in".

Wednesday night is usually our night as he is able to steal away after Bible Study for a few hours. Confirmation was made early on Wednesday morning and a request for dinner was taken. Spaghetti-a-la-foxy was the meal of choice and I took my time preparing it as I wanted to make sure I brought a smile to his face and satisfaction to his tummy.

I didn't realize that tonight would be different I didn't know that this evening would make me a fool but I was soon to find out......

8pm- I make my last call to RED to say goodnight and fill him in on the details of dinner

9pm- Showtime and "Hungry" still has not arrived I guess he's a litle late....

10pm- A call to say I'm on my way was received and I'm confused as to what is causing the change in plans

11:30pm- Hungry arrives and he seems to have an attitude for some reason or another I'm afraid to ask as to not find out something I don't want to know

2:00am- I was sexually satisfied and mentally frustrated and "Hungry" was on his way out of the door.

Here we are at 3am again and Carmen is still singing and I'm starting to listen to the message she's putting in my head.

I have been looking everywhere for something that was always in me and because of this search I found what appeared to be refuge in the arms of someone that belongs to someone else. So now he's on his way home to his other half and I'm left with the feelings of guilt, anger and lonliness. Something has got to change.................I think I just realized that change has to start with me .

The Foxybrown Show

Well hello and thanks for tuning into the pilot episode of my show.
I hope that you guys enjoy the show and find it enjoyable as you get to know my fab and interesting cast of characters and tune in on our wild and crazy day to day dramas. We are MANY things but the most important one is GROWING and through it all you will watch as my friends and family shape me into the host of this BLOG so appropriately titled "The Foxybrown Show"!

My Cast of Characters:

"Foxybrown"- The host of the show and the center of the Universe at least in my mind. I consider myself to be an agglomeration of all that the world has to offer, with the exception of Sports however I have been known to look really good in a pair of basketball shorts....I guess I would consider myself a free spirit with not many bounderies in life but a few issues here and there I mean hey I'm not perfect . As you tune in you will learn about the road I'm on and the roads I have traveled and exactly what makes the show such a hit.

"Red"- The Sidekick- Probably the closest thing to me, second only to my skin. We have been brothers since before I was officially legal. My travel partner My rock and definitely the slammin house track that beats in my heart. It's highly likely that we will be feeding eachother Apple Sauce and Split Pea Soup well into our early 90's.

"Vivacious"-The Lady in my Life- Truly the baddest bitch you ever met Focused, Educated and on a straight path to success marked with High End Handbags and $400 jeans! We have been attached since the very first day of High School. Highly likely that she will live in the basement of our house and will be preparing the Apple Sauce and Split Pea Soup for us all!

My Family- Not really sure how to introduce them......Well they are mine and they are the only ones I have, there will be good days and there will be bad days but no matter what happens I cannot and will not trade them.

My Pride and Joy- My precious niece who is every bit of spoiled rotten and just as shadey as her Uncle Foxy! When God blessed us with her Birth he also gave me new reasons to continue my growth and continue to live lifeto the fullest with no regrets.

My Staff- Wow, there are no words for the crew that makes the show happen everyday I have a crew that stretches from the guest bedroom of my apartment all the way to a few affiliates in Montreal and Europe......Yeah the Foxy show is broadcasted internationally I hope to extend my viewers to The Netherlands and Brussels sometime in 2005 . I have some superstars and you will see them more often than some others on the show so I'd like to acknowledge them

"Tiny Smalls"
"The Mexican"
"The Starr"
"The Preacher"
"The Brit"
"MT"

The newest addition to the cast "604" not to mention all the characters that make this show so very interesting....THE BOYZ!!!!

Again I'd like to thank you for tuning and please forgive me if I have missed someone trust me you will all have your episodes.

Please keep in mind the events you will read are REAL the people and places have been changed for Identity protection but if you know who you are well then......You just know who you are!

Ciao
